Castle Tycoon

Datenschutzerklärung

Kurz gesagt

Was auf deinem Gerät bleibt

Was online geht und warum

Deine Rechte

Nach der DSGVO hast du das Recht auf Auskunft, Berichtigung, Löschung, Einschränkung der Verarbeitung, Datenübertragbarkeit und Widerspruch. Schreib uns dazu an developer@askaldigital.com.

Privacy policy

In short

Castle Tycoon needs no account, no email address and no location permission. Ads only come as videos you start yourself to earn a reward in the game. The videos are provided by AppLovin. AppLovin processes device, advertising, usage and diagnostic data, and an approximate location derived from the IP address, to provide and measure advertising. Tracking across other companies’ apps and websites only takes place with your consent.

Only what the public leaderboard, visits to other castles, the ad videos and the game statistics need goes online. You can turn off leaderboard participation and the game statistics in your profile at any time and change your ad consent there at any time.

Controller

The controller responsible for processing your data in Castle Tycoon is:

Askal Digital LTD
47 Pygmalionos
8046 Paphos
Cyprus

Email: developer@askaldigital.com

Phone: +357 99219276

What stays on your device

On your device, the app stores your game progress (castle, gold, gems, progress), your settings (sounds, haptics, notifications, leaderboard participation), your profile (picture, title and name), which hints you have already seen, your last known leaderboard ranks, which players you have hidden and the numbers of purchases already credited.

With ads, the following are added: how many times you have received a reward from a video today, and your choice in the consent dialog.

This data does not leave your device, except as part of your own iPhone backups and as described below for the leaderboard and the game statistics. If you delete the app, it is gone. “Reset progress” in your profile deletes your game progress.

What goes online and why

So that there is a leaderboard and others can visit your castle, while you take part the app sends the following details about once a minute (if your power has changed) and when you leave the app:

In the leaderboard, other players see your name, your picture, your title, your country, your power, castle level and attacks repelled, and your town when visiting. They do not see your player ID: visits use a separate public identifier.

When you view the leaderboard, the app sends your player ID along so that your own row and your rank can be recognized.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (the game features you use) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a public leaderboard).

Where the data is stored

The leaderboard is hosted by Supabase, our data processor, in a data center in Frankfurt am Main (EU). The connection is encrypted. To answer a request, the server necessarily processes your device's IP address for technical reasons. We do not store it in the leaderboard and do not analyze it.

Your row remains stored as long as you take part in the leaderboard.

Report player

On a player's card in the leaderboard you can report or hide them. To report, the app opens an email to us with the player's name, country and public ID; you decide what you add and whether you send it. We review every report and remove offensive names. The app remembers hidden players only on your device.

Turning off the leaderboard

In your profile under Settings, you can turn off “Take part in the leaderboard”. The app then sends nothing more and deletes your row, including your town image, from the server. You can still view the others' lists; the app does not send a player ID when you do.

Game statistics and crash reports

So that we can see where the game gets stuck and fix bugs, while “Send game statistics” is on, the app sends the following details to our server about once a minute while you play and when you leave the app:

The app does not send your name, your leaderboard player ID or your location. Until they are sent, the details are kept briefly on your device. We only use them ourselves to find bugs and improve the game, and we do not pass them on. If you write to us via “Contact support”, your statistics ID is in the email so we can look up what happened in your game. You can remove the ID from the email before sending it.

Like the leaderboard, the details are stored with Supabase in Frankfurt am Main (EU). We do not store your device's IP address with them. We delete the details no later than 13 months after receiving them. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in finding bugs and improving the game.

In your profile under Settings, you can turn off “Send game statistics” at any time. The app then stops sending statistics and crash reports and deletes everything stored on the server under your statistics ID.

Advertising

Castle Tycoon only shows ads when you tap a gold button with the play icon: a short video, followed by a reward in the game. There are no ads that open by themselves and no ad banners.

The videos are provided by AppLovin Corporation, 1100 Page Mill Road, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. For this, a software component from AppLovin is built into the app. It only starts after the app has asked for your consent on first launch, and then preloads a video in the background so it is ready when you want to watch one.

In doing so, AppLovin processes information about your device (model, operating system, language, time zone, carrier), the IP address and, derived from it, the approximate country or region, the device's advertising identifiers (the IDFA only if you allow tracking), which videos were shown, watched to the end or tapped, as well as crash and performance data of the component. The purposes are delivering and billing the ads, detecting fraud and, only with your consent, personalized advertising and measuring advertising across other companies' apps. We ourselves only see aggregated figures, such as how many videos were shown.

Before the first video loads, in the EU, the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland (recognised by the region and time zone in your device settings), the app asks in its own dialog whether AppLovin may use your data for personalised ads. Only if you agree does iOS then ask whether the app may track you across apps and websites of other companies (App Tracking Transparency). In all other countries, only this iOS question appears. If you decline, you still get reward videos, just without personalisation.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG), to the extent you give it, and otherwise our legitimate interest in financing the free app through voluntary advertising (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future: in your profile under Settings with “Change ad consent”, and tracking also in the iOS settings under Privacy & Security, Tracking.

AppLovin processes this data as an independent controller and may transfer it to the USA. Further details, including on storage periods and your rights with respect to AppLovin, can be found in AppLovin's privacy policy: https://legal.applovin.com/privacy/

Purchases

In-app purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment data and no Apple ID. The app only receives a confirmed transaction from Apple (which product, transaction number), verifies it on your device and credits the purchase. Apple's privacy policy applies to this.

Apple Games

If you are signed in to Game Center (Apple Games) on your device, the app reports your achievements and your best strength and wave scores to Apple. For this, the app only reads your display name for the line in your profile and does not pass it on. Apple's privacy policy applies.

Notifications

Reminders, for example about an attack, a full gold mine or enough gold for the next castle level, are scheduled by the app on your device. There are no notifications via a server. You can turn them off in your profile or in the iOS settings.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. To do so, write to us at developer@askaldigital.com. Ideally, tell us your name in the leaderboard when you do.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
